Kayla Wai – Project Coordinator
Kayla joined New Ecology in 2024 as a Project Coordinator on the Decarbonization team. In this role, she works closely with Project Engineers and Managers to support building-level projects across multiple states, with a focus on decarbonizing multifamily housing and community buildings. Prior to joining New Ecology, Kayla served as a Green Team Crew Leader at Southwest Boston Community Development Corporation, where she worked with low-income communities on woodland conservation and environmental justice initiatives. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from Boston University, where she interned at BU Sustainability, managing the AASHE Sustainability Tracking Assessment and Rating System (STARS) platform and contributing to campus-wide sustainability initiatives.
