Joshua Galloway - Director of Partnership Development

Joshua joined New Ecology in 2016, and works on community-based resilience, electrification and decarbonization efforts with diverse multifamily and nonprofit facilities. As the Director of Partnership Development, Joshua develops relationships with community groups, regional housing advocacy organizations, property owners and allied professionals across the affordable housing field.  He has practiced public interest design and sustainability for twenty years in the fields of architecture and landscape architecture. As an Enterprise Rose Fellow, Joshua worked with underserved communities in Richmond, VA on historic renovations and new single family and multifamily communities. As an architect, he worked on adaptive re-use, renovation and new construction of 2,500+ housing units in the Mid-Atlantic. His work has included development and dissemination of sustainability and resilience guidelines for non-profit developers and municipalities. Joshua is passionate about the integration of equity, affordability, resilience and sustainability at a variety of scales including net zero energy homes in Virginia (EarthCraft Net Zero Pilot), SRO homes in Maryland (Energy Star MFNC), mixed-income homes in Pennsylvania (Phius 2021) and net zero energy mixed-use buildings in DC (Enterprise Green Communities Plus and Zero Energy Ready Homes). He has led 40+ design charrettes and presented on topics ranging from environmental justice to passive house multi-family buildings and climate resilience.
