After consulting with New Ecology for three years, Marty joined the team in 2008, where she now leads the delivery of building decarbonization services to existing portfolios and buildings. The Decarb Team offers strategic planning, all forms of audits, implementation and operational assistance, conducts technical research, and participates in capacity building and workforce development work across the country. Previously, Marty worked on the design and implementation of building energy monitoring and optimization services and developing and delivering other multifamily building services such as portfolio level green management plans, energy-savvy operations and maintenance, and compliance reporting. Before New Ecology, Marty served as President and General Manager of CleanScape, a recycling, shredding and vacant lot remediation company that created green-sector jobs in a distressed neighborhood of Providence, RI. Marty worked as a Supervising Environmental Planner at the RI Department of Environmental Management, responsible for development of statewide policies and programs for recycling and recycling market development. Marty’s first job post-college was as a mechanical engineer with the Electric Boat Division of General Dynamics where she broke ground by becoming the first woman to supervise at-sea systems operability tests.
