Sankhanil joined New Ecology in 2018 and has since played a critical role in developing the technology behind the company’s data acquisition systems, which form the core of its remote monitoring and optimization services. He holds a Niagara 4 Technical certification from Tridium and has extensive experience working with a variety of BMS devices. In addition, Sankhanil has contributed to numerous software projects using Python, R, and PostgreSQL, and he now serves as the lead developer for an energy modeling tool in MATLAB. He is keenly interested in research, particularly regarding the impact of climate change on urban constructions. Sankhanil earned his Bachelor of Engineering from Jadavpur University in Kolkata and his Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Arizona State University, where he developed an AI-based model using an LSTM neural network to accurately predict net energy consumption and cooling loads for commercial buildings.. Outside of work he enjoys playing soccer, playing the guitar (not necessarily at the same time) and reading any book he can get his hands on.
